Made-to-Measure Curtain Elegance with Peonies & Poodles

Digital creator and interior design enthusiast Jessica who you will know from Instagram as Peonies and Poodles chats with us about her interior design style and made-to-measure curtains from Material World. 

Jessica lives in Cork with her husband, little boy and three dogs. Jessica is a full-time nurse and also runs her Instagram account Peonies and Poodles where she shares her passion for all things interior design.  

Jessica and her husband bought their home in 2016. The house was a shell when they bought it so it needed a complete renovation. Jessica loved having a blank canvas to work with and really enjoyed the design process. 

Jessica has always had a passion for interior design, she started posting pretty pictures of her home on Instagram and people seemed to like it. Jessica spent her spare time flicking through interior design magazines getting inspiration and looking at paint colours, wallpapers and fabrics. If Jessica was to change career she would definitely go down the interior design root. People often ask Jessica for advice when redecorating their own homes as they know she has a good eye for detail. 

When planning the interiors for Jessica’s home she uses mood boards to help her to visualise the finished look. This helps Jessica to see what works and what needs to be taken away. It also helps her to create a theme for each room. Jessica would love to live in an old farmhouse, so this is where she takes a lot of her inspiration from. Her favourite interior design styles are traditional and English Country Living. 

We collaborated with Jessica on her living room. Jessica wanted this space to be comfortable, soft and romantic. She purposely chose a light paint colour for the wall so she could add stripes, patterns and florals with soft furnishings such as the made-to-measure curtains she designed with Material World. Jessica chose Apple Green Ticking fabric for her floor-length curtains with the pinch pleat heading which complements Jessica’s interior design style perfectly.
