Inside Jenny's County Cork Home: Her Made-to-Measure Curtain and Roman Blind Story

We were delighted to collaborate with Jenny, the creator behind @ourhome_premierheights who you will know from Instagram for sharing her beautiful County Cork home. Jenny lives there with her husband and their two young sons in a four bedroom bungalow, a new build of 2,400 square feet.

From the beginning, Jenny's vision for the house was clear. She wanted traditional elegance with luxury finishes throughout, a home that felt classical and considered in every room. That thinking shows the moment you step inside. A wide entrance hallway makes the first statement, panelling runs through the house, and the kitchen is a traditional in-frame design. Jenny describes the overall look as a traditional style bungalow with Georgian features woven throughout.

One of the things we love most about Jenny's approach is her confidence with colour. She is happy to be brave, and she mixes textile materials beautifully, layering wool, velvet and linen to give each room depth and warmth. It is an instinct for texture and tone that made her a natural fit for a Material World collaboration.

A master bedroom built on classical elegance

In 2026, Jenny turned her attention to the master bedroom. The vision here was luxury classical elegance, and she was keen to carry colours through from the rest of the house so the room felt connected to the whole. She had used a Farrow & Ball blue around her front door, and she brought that same blue inside, where it now features on the headboard wall.

Being a large room, Jenny wallpapered three of the walls in a soft, textured paper, then set about choosing a fabric that would pick up the wall colour. As she puts it herself, window dressings tell a key part of the story of a home and of the homeowner. She chose our Oxford mid teal velvet, paired with a Bordeaux duck egg blue braid.

It was the perfect colour choice to sit alongside the paint. The design is simple and clean, yet it offers that unmistakable luxury velvet finish. The braid has a lovely pop of blue running through it, and Jenny found that the cream within the braid really brought out the tones in the wallpaper too. Finished with a decorative braid down the leading edge and elegant tassel tiebacks, the curtains bring the whole scheme together.

Jenny's connection to Material World goes back a long way. She has known the brand for nearly twenty years, first visiting our store on Main Street in Naas as a teenager. Her own parents built their home and finished it with Material World curtains and fabrics, so she had seen the quality of the finish first hand long before this project. Ordering her own curtains, she found, could not have been easier from the comfort of home.

A linen Roman Blind for the sitting room

Having used velvet in the master bedroom, Jenny wanted to experiment with linen for her next window dressing. For the sitting room she chose a made-to-measure roman blind in our Como natural linen fabric, paired with the Milano natural braid.

She loved the warm, natural tone the fabric offered, and felt the Milano braid was the perfect styling choice to accompany it. Subtle, but full of elegance. What Jenny really loves about this fabric is its simplicity. It is warm in colour and timeless in design, a quiet contrast to the richer velvet upstairs, and proof of how different Material World fabrics can shape the mood of a room.

Jenny's verdict

Two rooms, two fabrics, one finish Jenny would happily choose again. In her own words, she highly recommends Material World for a luxury, exceptionally well made product, with a team always on hand to offer advice. You can visit our stunning showroom in Naas, and if you cannot make it in, that is absolutely fine too, because you can order from the heart of your own home. Jenny found the process from ordering to installation genuinely easy, and she would not hesitate to use Material World again for further window dressings in her home.
