Add Warmth to your Open-plan Area with Made-To-Measure Curtains

We were delighted to get the opportunity to collaborate with Laura who you will know from Instagram as Teach Na Coille. Laura and her husband built their dream home which is a H-shaped bungalow and moved in just after they got married in 2019. 

As the house is H-shaped there was an opportunity to add many windows therefore letting in a lot of light. Due to this Laura wanted a large open-plan living space. This open-plan space is Laura’s favourite room in the house and is the place where she spends most of her time when at home. 

When planning the interiors for her home she created a mood board on Pinterest as well as browsing Instagram looking for inspiration. Using these apps helped Laura to find her sense of style and gave her a vision of what she wanted. 

The ceiling in this room is vaulted so Laura added oak trusses to give it some warmth along with this she chose made-to-measure curtains for her large corner window. Laura chose the Santos Oatmeal fabric which complements her interiors perfectly. 

Laura would highly recommend Material World as she found the process work with us seamless. She was able to communicate via text message which made her life so much easier as she is a very busy Primary School Teacher. 

Laura's top tip when choosing a window dressing for your home is to choose a fabric that you love. Whether that's pink florals or blue stripes. A window dressing is a fixture in your home that will last for many years so it is important to take your time and choose something that you love.
