Let There Be Light - Lightening Up the Living Area with Voiles & Roman Blinds
Here at Material World, we were delighted to yet again collaborate with Digital Creator LaurenK_28 who you will have seen sharing her daily life and beautiful home on Instagram. You may remember our previous collaboration with Lauren where we helped her to design her very own bespoke made-to-measure Roman blinds for her little girl’s bedroom. For this collaboration, Lauren asked us to help her with planning window dressings for her living area. Lauren’s living area is a large open-plan space with four windows and a patio door. When choosing the interiors for this room Lauren decided to keep it neutral and quite minimalistic. She chose shades of white, cream, soft beige and soft grey.
As there are many windows in Lauren’s living area she chose her interiors to complement this so that the room would be filled with light. When having our consultation with Lauren she shared her sense of style and her vision for the room. When Lauren told us about her large patio door we knew exactly what would complement this area perfectly.
One of our favourite ways to allow lots of light into a room is by adding voile curtains. Voile fabric lets lots of light into the room but also creates a comfortable and cosy atmosphere whilst also providing the home with privacy. Lauren chose this beautiful neutral fabric with complementing braid that ties the interiors together. She also chose a wave finish which creates a soft and relaxed feel.
For the other windows in Lauren’s living area, she chose beautiful Roman blinds to complement the voile curtains. This fabric is also a beautiful neutral shade which complements the existing interiors in the room. This fabric is the perfect neutral shade to bring cream and greys together. The fabric used for the Roman blinds is Marela Cream Herringbone.
