How Majella Added Warmth to Her Living Area with Roman Blinds
It was a pleasure to get the opportunity to collaborate with Majella recently on window dressings for her home. You will know Majella from her Instagram page sixatno.5, where she showcases her beautiful home and passion for interior design.
Majella lives in County Down with her husband, children and pet dog. Majella and her husband built their home three years ago. They loved neo-Georgian style homes so this is what they recreated when building their home. Their beautiful home is located in the countryside so when building their home they tried their best to maximise the views where possible.
Majella has always had a passion for interior design and this passion came from her mother. Majella has fond memories of flicking through her mother’s interior design magazines when she was growing up and picking up lovely pieces for the home when out shopping.
Majella especially loves Georgian style homes, she loved driving around the country side and getting inspiration for designing her own home. She decided on a symmetrical and classic design for her home.
We collaborated Majella on her Living Area. In this space Majella has three windows, around these windows is architrave. Roman blinds are the perfect finishing touch for windows like these as they fit perfect inside the architrave and it acts like a frame around them. Majella chose the Herringbone Taupe fabric and Bordeaux Taupe braid.
This fabric is a beautiful rich shade of deep cream which compliments her interiors perfectly and adds warmth and a cosy field to her living area.
Majella first heard about Material World online, she saw a beautiful set of curtains which inspired her to check out our Instagram page. Majella loved what she saw and thought that our window dressings were very different from anything she had ever seen before.
She found the process of working with us seamless and very convenient as she lives in Northern Ireland it would have been very difficult for her to travel back and forth to Naas when planning her window treatments. We had a consultation with Majella on a video call and sent her her samples in the post.
Majella’s top tip when planning window dressing for your home is to take your time and love in your home for a while before making your final decision.
