CREATING THE ILLUSION OF MORE SPACE WITH FLOOR-LENGTH CURTAINS

Rooms with large windows or many windows need to be made the most of as they play such a vital part in every room of our homes. When dressed appropriately windows can be the stand-out decorative feature that will make or break a room. 

The living-dining room featured in this post is quite large with many windows, therefore, ensuring that the windows were dressed correctly was very important when planning the interiors of this room.

The room is painted a neutral greige tone which is perfect for both grey and beige furnishings. To add depth to the room a royal blue sofa and armchairs were chosen. 

By choosing such a statement piece when deciding how to dress the windows the designer had to ensure that the correct dressing and fabrics were used. The designer chose floor-length curtains which are perfect for these windows. Despite the fact, that there are so many windows with the room being large the floor-length curtains work well. 

The fabric used for the curtains complements the room. The background colour of the fabric matches perfectly with the colour used on the walls. There is a floral design running through the fabric in a silver-grey tone which works well with the royal blue sofa and armchairs and adds a subtle colour which creates warmth and depth.
