About the Role
As a Curtain and Blind Sales Consultant at Material World, you'll combine your passion for interior design with exceptional customer service skills. Working in our Naas store, you'll guide customers through their window treatment journey – from initial consultation to final installation. You'll leverage your design sensibility and product knowledge to help customers select the perfect fabrics and styles for their spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Consultation
- Welcome and engage customers, ensuring a positive experience for everyone who enters our store
- Determine specific customer needs with attentiveness and creativity, treating each person with equal respect and professionalism
- Share expert knowledge of fabrics, curtains, and Roman blinds to provide guidance on fabric types, colors, patterns, and style combinations
- Apply a strong eye for interior design and knowledge of home décor trends to enhance the customer experience
Sales Management
- Manage the complete sales cycle from initial inquiry to successful completion
- Interpret customer-provided measurements to prepare accurate and competitive quotes for made-to-measure orders
- Respond professionally to inquiries and quote requests from in-store customers and online channels
- Communicate effectively with customers in-store and over the phone
Operations Support
- Contribute to the store's success through merchandising and day-to-day operations
- Perform daily store operations including stock management, cash register operation, and opening/closing procedures
- Merchandise the store during quieter periods to maintain an inspiring shopping environment
Order Fulfillment
- Manage in-store and online orders with meticulous attention to detail
- Process sample requests efficiently
- Liaise with our delivery team and fitters to ensure customer orders are scheduled, installed, and fulfilled on time
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Proven track record in sales and customer service
- Understanding of fabrics, custom-made window treatments, and the interior design sector
- Strong communication skills – in person and written
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Accuracy with money handling and register use
- Technology literacy with good working knowledge of common internet technologies
- Genuine enthusiasm for learning about our products, values, and history
- Ability to work in a team-based atmosphere
